Travel Surgical Technologist Job Details

• Location: Akron, Ohio
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,420–$1,530
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through February 8, 2027
• Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Healthcare Setting: Operating Room / Surgical Services
• Orientation: 16 hours

Certified Surgical Technologist Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of permanent Operating Room Certified Surgical Technologist or Surgical Tech experience required
• Active NBSTSA certification required and must be in hand at the time of submission
• Current BLS certification required
• Permanent Ohio license or compact license in hand at the time of submission, when applicable to credentialing
• At least one recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty; references should be from the past 12 months
• Ability to complete required background screening and facility credentialing before the assignment begins
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required, subject to qualifying medical or religious exemptions
• Willingness to complete required orientation assessments and pre-start learning modules

Operating Room Technician Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and support the surgical team throughout operative procedures
• Pass instruments and supplies efficiently while anticipating the needs of surgeons and other members of the perioperative care team
• Perform accurate surgical counts in accordance with established operating room safety protocols
• Assist with room turnover, inventory management, equipment readiness, and infection prevention practices
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, anesthesia professionals, and other perioperative staff to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Follow department policies, applicable standards, and patient safety procedures at all times
