CVOR Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Sacramento, California
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,840–$3,000
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Schedule: Four 8-hour day shifts per week, approximately 40 hours weekly
• Shift Times: 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
• On-Call Requirement: Participation in an on-call rotation is required. Call coverage may include evening and overnight assignments, with approximately three call days per week and one or two call weekends per month.
• Weekend Call: Weekend coverage may run from Friday afternoon through Monday morning.

CVOR Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of recent open-heart cardiovascular operating room experience
• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
• Experience with electronic health record documentation; Epic experience required
• Pediatric cardiovascular and vascular hybrid operating room experience preferred
• Ability to participate in the required on-call and weekend rotation
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment

CVOR Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide specialized perioperative nursing care for cardiovascular and open-heart surgical procedures
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for scheduled and emergent cases
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and the multidisciplinary perioperative team
• Monitor patient status throughout the surgical experience and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Maintain strict sterile technique and follow established surgical safety, infection prevention, and documentation standards
• Support cardiovascular, pediatric, and hybrid vascular procedures as assigned
• Provide safe handoff communication and accurate documentation in Epic
• Respond to scheduled and urgent cases during on-call assignments
