Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Pediatric Cardiac CVOR travel assignment in Tacoma, WA. 13-week Travel RN opportunity delivering perioperative care for neonates through adult-sized pediatric cardiac patients. Job Details

• Location: Tacoma, WA 98405 – Tacoma, Washington; work in the Pacific Northwest with easy access to Puget Sound and outdoor recreation
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 5/4/2026 – End: 8/1/2026)
• Role: Travel RN / Operating Room Registered Nurse – Pediatric Cardiac CVOR
• Setting: Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with Level IV NICU
• Shift: 12-hour days (06:45 – 19:15)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 – $2,600 (Travel RN pay)
• On Call: 1 call shift per week (end of shift to following morning), 2 weekends per 6-week period (Friday EOS to Monday morning); 30-minute response time required
• Parking: Free parking lot
• Scrubs: Scrub color provided

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Pediatric Cardiovascular OR (Peds CVOR) experience required; first-time travel nurses should have at least 5 years Peds CVOR experience
• Active Washington RN license or Compact RN license accepted
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Proven skills in IV starts, scrubbing, arterial line placement, and circulating in pediatric cardiac cases highly preferred
• Experience with EPIC EMR required

Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care for pediatric patients undergoing complex cardiothoracic surgeries (open heart procedures, valve repairs, ECMO cases, PDA ligation, ASD repairs)
• Care for a diverse pediatric population—from neonates to adult-sized children—including patients with congenital heart disease and developmental delays
• Float to the general OR to assist with non-CVOR cases as needed
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotation and maintain a 30-minute response time
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using EPIC EMR
