• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, 10-hour shifts
• Shifts Per Week: 4
• Shift Duration: 10 hours
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,690 - $1,820
• Schedule Notes: Call coverage may be required, including weekend call rotation
• Case Mix: Strong neuro, complex cases, orthopedics, and robotics experience preferred

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of perioperative, operating room, or related surgical technology experience required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT certification required
• Associate degree, vocational certification, or military certificate in Surgical Technology required
• BLS (American Heart Association) required
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and anticipate surgical team needs
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced surgical environment with call expectations

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures
• Function as the scrub person during operative and invasive procedures
• Maintain the sterile field and take corrective action when needed to preserve sterility
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies throughout procedures
• Perform surgical counts with the circulating RN according to policy
• Collect and label specimens accurately and report implants, drains, catheters, and packing to the circulator
• Assist with skin prep, clipping, room cleanup, and turnover activities
• Support patient safety, infection control, and aseptic technique at all times
• Participate in call coverage, team orientation, and ongoing competency activities as assigned
