• Patient Population: Adult post-operative oncology patients

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience
• Active Colorado RN license or compact RN license
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Oncology skills checklist required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Experience in a high-acuity environment with flexible staffing ratios
• Prior Epic charting experience required
• Comfort working rotating shifts, weekends, and occasional floating as needed
• Must be able to support adult surgical oncology patients with complex post-op needs

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult surgical oncology patients
• Monitor post-operative recovery and support patients in reaching discharge milestones
• Assess, plan, and implement care for patients with cancers involving the abdomen and pelvis, including gynecologic oncology, urology oncology, colorectal, pancreatic, liver, and stomach conditions
• Administer medications and manage IVs, lines, blood products, and related therapies as appropriate
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families on recovery expectations, precautions, and discharge readiness
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit-specific protocols and safety standards
• Support a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on quality outcomes
