• Location: Midlothian, VA 23114
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,170 - $2,330
• Start Date: September 28, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days, 10-hour shifts
• Call: 6-8 call shifts in a 6-week period
• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Interview Process: Initial interview followed by a unit leader interview

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist First Assist
• Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist credential required
• BLS certification required
• Virginia license required
• CSA or CFA credential required
• Robotics experience preferred, especially with DaVinci systems
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, aseptic practices, and operating room workflows
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Flexibility for call coverage and scheduling needs

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and the care team during operative and invasive procedures
• Prepare and organize sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment for each case
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile field throughout procedures
• Perform surgical counts with the circulating RN according to policy
• Support specimen handling, labeling, and documentation as required
• Assist with patient preparation, including surgical skin prep and clipping
• Provide support for surgical wound closure and suture cutting when appropriate
• Collaborate with the OR team across multiple service lines and specialties
• Contribute to safe, efficient, and cost-conscious patient care
• Participate in on-call coverage, orientation support, and ongoing competency development
