• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Travelers will fill shifts with the greatest need
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per schedule period
• Holiday Requirement: Yes, within the core staff rotation
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Charting System: EPIC
• Care Setting: Acute care hospital
• Float Requirement: May float to other general medical units
• Orientation: 1 shift, with additional shifts if needed
• Dress Code: Scrubs of any color

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience in an acute care setting
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with NG placement, Foley placement, blood administration, heparin drips, and insulin drips
• Ability to titrate drips as needed
• Strong clinical judgment and comfort caring for postpartum, hysterectomy, mastectomy, and general med/surg patients
• Must be prepared to complete unit-required submission details, including requested time off and verification items
• Must be able to pass a negative drug screen

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients in a Med/Surg women’s care environment
• Care for patients with diagnoses including hysterectomy, mastectomy, postpartum care, and general medical/surgical needs
• Monitor patient conditions and administer medications and therapies safely and accurately
• Titrate heparin and insulin drips according to clinical protocols
• Perform common bedside procedures and support patient comfort and recovery
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and the broader healthcare team to ensure excellent patient outcomes
• Adapt to changing unit needs and float to other general medical units when required
• Deliver professional, patient-centered care in a busy acute care nursing environment
