• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, starting at 7:00 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Participation in holiday rotation
• Floating: Float to like units only; may assist in higher acuity areas without taking a patient load
• Orientation: First shift includes unit and computer-based orientation
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Black

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of surgical, Med/Surg, or telemetry nursing experience required
• Must have total joint experience
• Experience interpreting telemetry strips and cardiac rhythms
• Current BLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity acute care environment
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday rotation as scheduled
• Experience with PCA pumps, reversal agents, sepsis management, and TPN/lipids preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for a Med/Surg Telemetry patient population with a focus on surgical and post-operative patients
• Monitor telemetry strips and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Care for patients with diagnoses including neuro, ortho, vascular, GI, sepsis, and chronic pain conditions
• Administer and monitor therapies such as IV antibiotics, TPN, lipids, PCA, and heparin drips per protocol
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support admissions, discharges, and patient flow
• Assist with a wide variety of inpatient surgical cases in a busy, high-volume unit
• Deliver safe, compassionate care while maintaining clear communication with the care team
• Adapt to changing patient needs and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented environment
