• Setting: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Location: Springfield, Ohio
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 10/5/2026
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,810 - $1,940
• On-Call: Heart call may require 10-15 calls in a 6-week period with a 30-minute response time
• Float: May float to the main OR when cardiac or vascular cases are not scheduled

Job Requirements

• Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Surgical Technologist certification required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac or cardiovascular operating room experience required
• At least 1-2 years of general operating room experience required
• Previous travel surgical technologist experience preferred
• Associate degree, vocational certificate, or military certificate in Surgical Technology preferred/required by role standards
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical counts, aseptic technique, and perioperative procedures
• Ability to work independently, anticipate surgeon and team needs, and respond quickly in high-acuity surgical situations

Responsibilities

• Serve as the scrub person during operative and invasive cardiovascular procedures
• Prepare, organize, and maintain sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment for each case
• Maintain a sterile field and support aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures
• Assist with surgical counts, specimen handling, and accurate labeling
• Support a wide range of cases including CABG, valve procedures, carotid endarterectomy, fem-pop procedures, vascular bypass, and hybrid OR cases such as TAVR
• Assist in cath lab and vascular procedures as needed, including TCAR, EVAR, and TVAR support
• Help with pre-op and post-op cleaning, room turnover, and operating room readiness
• Prepare surgical skin prep and clipping as indicated
• Demonstrate flexibility with staffing, scheduling, and floating to the main OR when needed
• Participate in patient safety practices, teamwork, and ongoing competency expectations in a collaborative healthcare environment
