Labor & Delivery RN Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where care is provided
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (ANRP) certification
- ACLS certification required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of 1 year of recent full-time equivalent nursing experience within the last 3 years
- Preferred: 5+ years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Preferred: High-risk Labor & Delivery or High-Risk OB experience
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, skilled maternal and obstetric nursing care throughout the labor and delivery process
- Monitor maternal and fetal conditions and respond appropriately to changing clinical needs in a high-acuity environment
- Support safe deliveries by collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary care team
- Deliver patient education and emotional support to mothers and families
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established care protocols
- Help promote a safe, efficient, and positive patient experience for both patients and staff
