• Specialty: Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Holiday Coverage: Every other holiday
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,810 - $1,940
• Start Date: September 14, 2026
• Location: Charlottesville, VA

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Current BLS and NRP required
• Virginia respiratory therapist license required; pending license accepted if in hand by the Wednesday before the start date
• Experience in Level IV NICU care required
• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• ACCS preferred
• Must be comfortable floating within scope of practice across all units of the children's hospital
• Competency with Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A required
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents in a hospital-based setting
• Support NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatric patients
• Perform respiratory therapy interventions including airway support, ventilation management, and aerosol treatments
• Assist with intubation, extubation, and high-risk delivery attendance
• Manage and monitor advanced respiratory equipment and therapies as needed
• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to support high-quality patient outcomes
• Adapt to a self-scheduling environment while helping meet unit coverage needs
