Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where care is provided
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Minimum 5 years of straight PICU experience; floating experience does not qualify
• Cardiac experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field preferred

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, high-acuity pediatric nursing care to critically ill patients in the PICU
• Monitor patient status, respond to changes in condition, and support timely clinical interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary pediatric care team
• Administer medications and treatments according to established clinical protocols
• Assist with cardiac-focused pediatric intensive care and complex critical care needs
• Document care accurately and maintain a high standard of patient safety and communication
