Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360 – $2,480 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Cleveland, OH 44106 (University Circle area)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (June 14, 2026 – September 12, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour day/night shifts (rotating as needed)
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse, On-site
• Unit: Medical Oncology / Step-Down (oncology nursing position)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license in Ohio or active Compact License (eligible to practice in Ohio)
• Minimum 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience required (travel nurse oncology preferred)
• ACLS required; BLS required
• Chemotherapy administration experience and competency with safe handling of cytotoxic agents
• Experience with central lines / port-a-cath care and infusion nursing
• Proficiency interpreting cardiac telemetry and recognizing arrhythmias
• Advanced respiratory care skills (trachs, chest tubes, Airvo, CPAP/BiPAP)
• Step-down or progressive care experience highly preferred
• Experience with end-of-life care / hospice and strong patient/family communication skills
• Strong critical thinking, clinical documentation skills, and comfort with EHR systems
• Oncology certification (OCN) or chemo certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to complex medical oncology patients in a step-down setting
• Administer chemotherapy and biologic agents, monitor for adverse reactions and manage side effects
• Assess and respond to changes in patient condition using telemetry and clinical judgment
• Provide advanced respiratory support and manage trachs and chest tubes when needed
• Perform central line and port-a-cath care, including medication administration and infection prevention
• Support patients and families through end-of-life care with empathy and professionalism
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary oncology teams (physicians, pharmacists, social work, palliative care) to optimize outcomes
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, follow safety protocols, and adhere to chemotherapy handling policies
