Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,908–$2,120
• Nursing Specialty: Mother/Baby, postpartum, and newborn care
• Location: Louisville, Kentucky 40207
• Work Setting: On-site hospital
• Start Date: November 1, 2026
• Contract Duration: 14-week travel nursing contract
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Mother/Baby Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of acute care Registered Nurse experience, preferably in a Mother/Baby, postpartum, or newborn care setting
• Current Registered Nurse licensure appropriate for practice in Kentucky
• Nursing diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NRP-Advanced certification
• STABLE certification
• Experience using Epic electronic health records (EHR)
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, teamwork, patient education, and care coordination skills

Mother/Baby RN Responsibilities

• Assess and reassess postpartum patients and newborns according to clinical policies and individual patient needs
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise individualized plans of care for mothers and newborns
• Monitor patient responses to clinical interventions and document nursing care accurately in the Epic EHR
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based Mother/Baby nursing care that supports patient and family comfort, safety, and satisfaction
• Educate patients and families about care, treatment, newborn needs, recovery, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate postpartum and newborn care
• Delegate appropriately to licensed and unlicensed team members while maintaining accountability for patient outcomes
• Participate in quality, safety, service improvement, regulatory compliance, mentoring, and teamwork initiatives
