Med/Surg RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
• Minimum of 3 years of current or recent telemetry and/or stepdown nursing experience
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret telemetry; telemetry competency will be evaluated during orientation
• Current, active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Epic EMR proficiency; independent Epic experience is required
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, with the specialty experience above required for this assignment
• Ability to float among multiple medical-surgical and related inpatient units as needed

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Complete nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards and provider orders
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, ancillary departments, patients, and families to coordinate patient care
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the Epic EMR
• Float to Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, ED/Med-Surg boarder, and other medical-surgical units when needed
• Support a positive team environment while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care
