Job description
Join us for an engaging 13-week travel contract in Fort Morgan, Colorado, where you'll work 12-hour night shifts on a medical/surgical unit with 14 beds. This role offers you the unique opportunity to handle a variety of cases including congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure. You'll be relied upon to titrate drips such as analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives, while enjoying a setting where resourcefulness and adaptability shine. The unit operates without telemonitor techs, so you'll need to be comfortable reading strips and escalating concerns to physicians. This assignment allows you to experience rural healthcare dynamics firsthand, with a supportive team including nurse aides and a charge nurse who actively participate in patient oversight. The flexible scheduling—self-scheduling and block shifts—plus the opportunity to contribute meaningfully in a compassionate environment makes this an inspiring and rewarding position.
