Job description

Join a dedicated team on a child/adolescent inpatient unit in North Dakota, where you'll work in a secure, locked environment on a 13-week contract. This role involves providing mental health support to adolescents and adults with diagnoses like depression, anxiety, substance abuse, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. The unit operates with a focus on active engagement—nurses are expected to assist with rounds, de-escalation, and patient interactions, not just monitor from the station. You'll have the opportunity to work in a specialized setting that separates adolescent and adult populations, offering some variety in your daily routine. The shift schedule includes 12-hour days and nights, with self-scheduling options and a focus on teamwork. Previous acute/inpatient or hospital experience and strong communication skills are essential, while prior adolescent or de-escalation experience is preferred. IV experience is nice but not required, as IVs are rare on this unit. You'll be working in a role that emphasizes hands-on involvement and patient advocacy.
