Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to follow HIPAA, patient safety, infection prevention, and workplace safety standards

CNA Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care and bedside support under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, comfort, and independence.
• Document care provided accurately and communicate changes or concerns to the nursing team.
• Follow safe patient-handling practices and identify and report potential hazards.
• Support infection prevention efforts and comply with facility policies and applicable regulatory guidelines.
• Assist with patient meal selections, tray delivery and retrieval, nourishment distribution, and diet-related updates according to current orders.
• Help ensure menus and nourishment labels reflect prescribed diets, allergies, sensitivities, and patient preferences.
• Communicate patient care and food-service concerns to the appropriate department.
• Complete related clerical tasks, including preparing reports, answering phones, filing, and maintaining organized supplies.
• Participate in required in-services, departmental meetings, and team-based activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support safe, efficient patient care.
