Operating Room Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 1 year of operating room nursing experience
• Recent outpatient surgery or perioperative nursing experience preferred
• Ability to work four 10-hour daytime shifts and complete 40 hours per week
• Strong knowledge of surgical asepsis, sterile technique, perioperative safety, and patient advocacy
• Ability to complete required clinical, professional, and facility-specific onboarding requirements

Outpatient Operating Room RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients before, during, and after outpatient surgical procedures
• Prepare patients, equipment, supplies, and the operating room environment for scheduled procedures
• Support the surgical team while maintaining strict sterile technique and infection-prevention standards
• Monitor patient status, identify changes promptly, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary perioperative care team
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established policies and provider orders
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and perioperative care accurately
• Promote patient safety, comfort, dignity, and continuity of care throughout the surgical experience
