Locum Tenens OB/GYN Job Details

• Location: Petersburg, Virginia
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $81,900–$87,750
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Duration: Approximately 13 weeks, with potential for ongoing coverage
• Practice Setting: Hospital-based OB/GYN, labor and delivery, and clinic coverage
• Schedule and Shift Details: Scheduled shifts are 12-hour days; separate 24-hour call coverage runs from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and includes clinic responsibilities. Coverage dates may include December 17–24 and December 31
• Call Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC
• Patient Volume: Approximately 20 clinic patients per day and 2–3 nursery admissions per day
• Delivery and Postpartum Capacity: 9 labor and delivery beds and 20 postpartum beds

OB/GYN Physician Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent OB/GYN physician experience
• Board certification in OB/GYN
• Active Virginia medical license
• Active Virginia DEA and Controlled Substance Registration
• ABOG certification
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to provide procedure logs documenting at least 50 deliveries, including at least 15 cesarean sections, within the past 12 months
• Ability to provide a self-query National Practitioner Data Bank report during credentialing
• Clean professional background and malpractice history to support temporary credentialing consideration
• Availability for the listed coverage dates at the time of submission

Locum Tenens OB/GYN Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour OB/GYN call coverage and respond to urgent patient needs
• Evaluate and manage obstetric and gynecologic patients in hospital and clinic settings
• Perform cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries
• Manage suction D&C procedures, ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal uterine bleeding
• Round on postpartum and gynecologic patients
• Collaborate with OB hospitalists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, surgical assistants, nurses, and other members of the care team
• Use EPIC to complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Participate in credentialing and provide required clinical documentation and procedure logs
