Interventional Radiology RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 1 year of recent Interventional Radiology or Cross-Sectional Interventional Radiology nursing experience
• Previous critical care nursing experience required
• Current proficiency with peripheral IV insertion, port access, and port deaccess
• Experience providing pre- and post-procedure recovery care for Interventional Radiology patients
• Current experience monitoring patients receiving IV conscious sedation
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong patient assessment, communication, clinical judgment, and patient-safety skills

Interventional Radiology RN Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for patients undergoing Interventional and Cross-Sectional Interventional Radiology procedures
• Complete pre-procedure assessments and prepare patients for imaging-guided interventions
• Provide post-procedure monitoring, recovery care, and discharge education
• Perform peripheral IV access, port access, and port deaccess according to policy
• Monitor patients receiving IV conscious sedation and promptly identify changes in condition
• Apply critical care assessment and intervention skills to support patient stability
• Collaborate with radiology providers and the multidisciplinary procedural team to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care transitions accurately
