Registered Nurse Job Details

• Job Title: Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – Float Pool / ED Holds
• Location: Trenton, New Jersey 08638
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Contract Duration: 8 weeks
• Start Date: November 17, 2026
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Float Expectations: Float between designated campuses and support medical-surgical telemetry units or Emergency Department holds as needed
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
• Attendance Requirement: Missed scheduled shifts must be made up within the same week when possible. If a shift cannot be made up during that week, the assignment may be extended to include the missed shift.

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license or compact RN license at the time of submission
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Required influenza vaccination; declinations are not accepted
• Ability to work night shifts and float between assigned units and campuses

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
• Care for patients held in the Emergency Department while coordinating ongoing assessments and treatment needs.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, monitor clinical status, and promptly identify changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, policies, and professional standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing colleagues, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner.
• Adapt to changing assignments and support multiple units as part of the RN float pool.
• Promote patient safety, effective communication, and continuity of care throughout each shift.
