Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of advanced practice experience; neurosurgery experience is strongly preferred
• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure and eligibility to practice in Minnesota
• Advanced Practice certification
• Board certification or eligibility in the relevant specialty, consistent with credentialing requirements
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Ability to complete facility credentialing and provide required clinical documentation

Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities

• Provide advanced practice evaluation and treatment for patients receiving neurosurgical care
• Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate follow-up care
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Manage approximately 12–16 patient encounters per shift while maintaining a high standard of clinical care
• Document examinations, clinical decisions, treatment plans, and patient progress accurately
• Respond appropriately to urgent neurological and neurosurgical patient needs within the scope of practice
