Travel RN Job Details

• Registered Nurse Specialty: Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Location: Fort Myers, Florida
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830–$1,920
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours weekly
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 22, 2027
• End Date: April 24, 2027
• Unit: 52-bed Neuro Progressive Care Unit
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 nurse to 4–5 patients
• Floating: Flexibility to float between designated Neuro PCU areas and other approved units or locations may be required

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Florida
• At least 2 years of acute-care Registered Nurse experience
• Progressive Care Unit, step-down, or comparable acute-care nursing experience required; Neuro PCU experience highly preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current NIHSS certification
• Ability to accurately interpret EKG rhythms
• Degree accreditation documented in the professional profile, or at least 5 years of qualifying nursing experience
• Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to changing assignments, and function at the expected level of core staff

Neuro Progressive Care Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to high-acuity patients in a Neuro Progressive Care setting
• Monitor neurological status, cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and changes in patient condition
• Recognize and promptly escalate clinical deterioration or other urgent patient concerns
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Perform focused assessments and maintain timely, thorough clinical documentation
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Support patient and family education throughout the plan of care
• Float when needed while maintaining safe, high-quality care across assigned areas
