Travel Laboratory Job Details

• Location: Fort Myers, Florida
• Healthcare Setting: On-site acute-care hospital laboratory
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,410-$1,510
• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• End Date: February 27, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13-week travel laboratory contract
• Shift: Third shift; rotating 10- or 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: Seven shifts on followed by seven shifts off, Thursday through Wednesday rotation
• Hours: Weekly hours are guaranteed according to the assignment schedule

Medical Technologist and Laboratory Technician Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Technician
• Valid Florida license or authorization required for the assigned laboratory role
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current ASCP certification
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to laboratory quality and patient safety
• Pediatric, oncology, or neonatal intensive care laboratory experience is highly preferred
• Previous travel laboratory assignment experience is highly preferred
• Flexibility to float and support varying hospital laboratory needs

Travel Medical Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform accurate laboratory testing and specimen processing in an acute-care hospital environment
• Follow established procedures for specimen identification, handling, testing, and documentation
• Monitor quality control and report laboratory results promptly and accurately
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other clinical teams to support timely diagnosis and patient care
• Maintain compliance with laboratory safety, regulatory, and infection-control standards
• Adapt to rotating assignments and float between laboratory areas as needed
• Contribute as a dependable member of the core hospital laboratory team
