Join a hospital laboratory team in Weston, Florida, a welcoming South Florida community. This 13-week travel healthcare contract offers an overnight schedule for an experienced Medical Technologist/Lab Technician with recent Blood Bank and immunohematology expertise.

Travel Medical Technologist Job Details

• Location: Weston, Florida, in South Florida
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580–$1,700
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 23, 2026
• End Date: February 22, 2027
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour night shifts
• Shift Hours: Approximately 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
• Orientation: 16 hours, plus required pre-start learning modules

Medical Technologist and Blood Bank Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of laboratory experience, including recent Blood Bank experience
• Current Florida laboratory license in hand
• Current Immunohematology or Blood Bank certification
• Strong knowledge of blood banking, transfusion testing, immunohematology, and specimen handling
• Ability to work independently and accurately during overnight laboratory shifts
• Successful completion of required orientation assessments and compliance modules before beginning the assignment
• Two professional references from a direct supervisor, manager, assistant nurse manager, or department director
• Required COVID-19 and influenza vaccination, subject to applicable medical or religious exemptions

Blood Bank Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform Blood Bank and immunohematology testing in accordance with established laboratory procedures
• Process, evaluate, and document patient specimens with a high degree of accuracy
• Support blood product preparation, compatibility testing, and transfusion-related laboratory services
• Identify and appropriately escalate critical, discrepant, or unexpected laboratory results
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and follow quality assurance, regulatory, and safety standards
• Collaborate with clinical teams to provide timely test results and support patient care
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant hospital laboratory work environment
