Registered Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Location: Trenton, New Jersey
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Assignment Length: 8 weeks
• Start Date: December 9, 2026
• Healthcare Setting: On-site hospital float pool supporting medical-surgical/telemetry units and Emergency Department holds
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Clinical Systems: Cerner electronic medical record (EMR)
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New Jersey or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license at the time of submission
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications
• Recent acute-care or Emergency Department hold nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float between designated campuses and provide care across multiple medical-surgical units as needed
• Flu vaccination required; declinations are not accepted
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills

Medical-Surgical and Float Pool RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in medical-surgical/telemetry units and Emergency Department holds
• Float to assigned units based on patient volume, acuity, and staffing needs
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, monitor patient status, and document care in Cerner
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions or escalation
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Support admissions, transfers, discharges, and continuity of care across assigned units
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday as scheduled
• Make up any call-off shift within the same week when required; overtime is not permitted for make-up shifts. If the shift cannot be made up within the same week, the assignment may be extended to include the missed shift.
