• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,620–$1,700
• Start Date: November 23, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 21, 2027
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Schedule: Generally 3 shifts per week, totaling 36 hours; schedule rotates to 48 hours every other week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas
• Openings: 3 positions

Psychiatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Mississippi
• At least 1 year of professional psychiatric nursing experience required
• Geriatric psychiatric nursing or geropsych experience preferred
• Two years of relevant behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current SECURE or CPI certification
• Strong communication, psychiatric assessment, de-escalation, and therapeutic relationship-building skills

Psychiatric Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to geriatric patients in a behavioral health and senior care setting
• Perform comprehensive psychiatric and nursing assessments and monitor changes in patients’ physical and mental health conditions
• Administer medications and evaluate patient responses according to established policies and procedures
• Use therapeutic communication and evidence-based behavioral health interventions to support patient stability
• Recognize escalating behaviors and apply appropriate de-escalation and crisis-prevention techniques
• Collaborate with providers, behavioral health professionals, patients, and families to develop and carry out individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and communicate significant findings to the interdisciplinary care team
• Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues
