Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980–$2,080
• Location: New Haven, Connecticut
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel Registered Nurse assignment
• Start Date: December 18, 2026
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts
• Shift Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4–5
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients
• Documentation: Epic
• Call: Not required
• Float Expectations: May float to the emergency department to care for boarders

Travel RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse experience, including neuro telemetry experience
• Active Connecticut Registered Nurse license before the assignment start date
• Current BLS certification
• NIHSS certification or demonstrated competency in stroke assessment
• Strong telemetry nursing knowledge, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Ability to care for patients with neurological, stroke, neurosurgical, orthopedic trauma, and medical-surgical diagnoses
• Current influenza vaccination is required
• Willingness to complete required pre-assignment and annual learning modules

Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a mixed neurology and orthopedic-trauma telemetry setting
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Perform neurological assessments, including NIHSS stroke assessments when indicated
• Manage patients with stroke, neurosurgical, general neurology, orthopedic trauma, and medical-surgical conditions
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies, insulin protocols, heparin protocols, blood products, and oxygen therapy
• Provide care for central lines, peripheral IVs, feeding tubes, chest tubes, tracheostomies, wounds, and wound vacs as applicable
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient status while collaborating with rapid response and code teams
• Coordinate care with physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
