• Schedule: Daily newborn rounding with backup call coverage; specific shift details to be confirmed

Pediatric Physician and Neonatal Care Requirements

• Board certification in Pediatrics or an applicable neonatal-perinatal specialty
• Active Pennsylvania physician license; Interstate Medical Licensure Compact participation is not accepted for this opportunity
• Experience working in a Level II nursery or NICU required; Level III NICU experience preferred
• Current BLS and PALS certifications
• Demonstrated proficiency with invasive and non-invasive neonatal ventilation, including CPAP/BiPAP and inhaled nitric oxide
• Ability to perform or manage neonatal procedures, including chest tube insertion, exchange transfusion, central and arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, and thoracentesis

Neonatal Physician Responsibilities

• Provide daily rounds and comprehensive care for newborns in the Level II NICU and nursery
• Provide backup call coverage for advanced practice providers
• Attend all Cesarean sections, including high-risk deliveries, and support neonatal stabilization
• Evaluate and manage newborns requiring invasive ventilation, non-invasive respiratory support, or inhaled nitric oxide
• Assess and manage acute volume and blood pressure concerns in neonatal patients
• Perform or oversee procedures such as chest tube insertion, exchange transfusions, central and arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
• Provide circumcision services and participate in appropriate newborn diagnostic and therapeutic care
• Collaborate with nursing staff and advanced practice providers to promote safe, timely, and high-quality neonatal care
