Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in New Jersey, or eligibility through a compact license
• At least 1 year of recent emergency department, emergency room, or comparable acute care nursing experience
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care in a fast-paced emergency care environment
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work scheduled 12-hour day shifts and fulfill the 36-hour weekly commitment

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Perform rapid nursing assessments and prioritize care for patients with a wide range of conditions
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Provide patient and family education, emotional support, and discharge guidance
• Document assessments, interventions, responses to treatment, and care plans accurately
• Maintain compliance with clinical standards, patient-safety practices, and applicable nursing policies
