ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care 13-Week Contract in Flemington, NJ

Join an experienced critical care team as an ICU Registered Nurse in Flemington, New Jersey. When ICU census is low, this position may support the Medical-Surgical Telemetry (MST) unit. ICU Nursing Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
• Shift Pattern: Three 12-hour shifts per week; 36 hours per week
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float Requirement: May float to the Medical-Surgical Telemetry (MST) unit based on ICU census and staffing needs
• Work Setting: On-site hospital nursing job in Flemington, New Jersey

ICU Registered Nurse Requirements

• Minimum of two years of recent ICU or Critical Care RN experience
• Active New Jersey RN license or valid Compact RN license at the time of submission
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current NIHSS certification
• Demonstrated experience with mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• Basic cardiac arrhythmia and rhythm interpretation skills
• Ability and willingness to float to the MST unit as needed
• Flu immunization required unless a valid medical exemption with supporting documentation is provided
• Professional, clean clinical attire; no specific scrub color is required

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and respond promptly to clinical needs
• Manage patients receiving mechanical ventilation and support complex critical care interventions
• Perform basic cardiac rhythm interpretation and communicate significant findings to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established clinical standards
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate individualized patient care
• Float to the Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit when needed to help maintain safe staffing and continuity of care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold high standards of patient safety and professionalism
