CT/PET Technologist Job Details

• Specialty: CT/PET Technologist; PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based PET/CT services with a mobile imaging unit
• Location: Elmira, New York
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,740–$2,940
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Assignment: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: November 29, 2026
• End Date: February 27, 2027
• Travel Requirement: Support a mobile imaging unit traveling between healthcare facilities every other week

CT/PET Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in CT, PET/CT, nuclear medicine, or a closely related medical imaging environment
• Active New York State Nuclear Medicine Technology License
• Demonstrated competence with PET/CT imaging procedures and nuclear medicine protocols
• Ability to work independently while traveling with a mobile imaging unit
• Strong patient-care, communication, radiation safety, and clinical imaging skills
• Valid driver’s license or state-issued identification
• Ability to meet facility onboarding, health screening, background check, and documentation requirements

CT/PET Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform PET/CT and related nuclear medicine imaging procedures according to established protocols
• Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging, explain procedures, and promote comfort and safety throughout the examination
• Operate, calibrate, and monitor CT/PET imaging equipment while recognizing and escalating equipment concerns
• Review imaging orders and patient histories to ensure appropriate preparation and exam performance
• Maintain accurate imaging documentation and follow radiation safety standards
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team
• Travel with the mobile imaging unit between regional healthcare facilities on an every-other-week rotation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant medical imaging environment
