Interventional Radiology Technologist Requirements

• At least 1 year of radiologic technology experience; 2 years preferred
• Completion of an American Medical Association-approved school of Radiologic Technology
• Active New York Radiologic Technologist license
• ARRT certification
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Ability to participate in required weekday and weekend call coverage
• Ability to work collaboratively with radiologic technologists, registered nurses, physicians, and other procedural staff

Interventional Radiology Technologist Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for interventional radiology procedures while prioritizing patient safety and image quality
• Prepare patients, equipment, and procedure rooms for scheduled and urgent interventional radiology cases
• Operate and maintain advanced imaging systems, including Siemens Artis-Q equipment
• Assist with sterile technique, patient positioning, radiation safety, and procedural workflow
• Document procedures and patient care activities using EPIC, PACS, and related clinical systems
• Coordinate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the procedural care team
• Provide call coverage for after-hours interventional radiology needs
• Be prepared to support C-arm procedures in the operating room and endoscopy areas as needed
