Travel Nursing Job Details

• Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
• Location: White Plains, New York
• Healthcare Setting: Acute care, on-site
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,160–$2,270
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through February 15, 2027
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend for day-shift staff; approximately three weekend shifts in a four-week period
• Orientation: Approximately 2–3 unit-specific shifts
• Technology: Meditech and GE documentation systems

Labor & Delivery RN Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in New York
• BSN required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NRP certification
• High-risk obstetric nursing experience and the ability to manage a fast-paced assignment
• Strong patient advocacy, communication, clinical assessment, and customer-service skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with obstetric providers, anesthesia, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, scrub technicians, and the broader care team

Labor & Delivery Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the antepartum process.
• Care for high-risk obstetric patients, including patients receiving magnesium therapy and patients undergoing cesarean deliveries.
• Perform independent nursing examinations, complete assessments, monitor fetal and maternal status, and promptly communicate changes in condition.
• Support cesarean procedures performed within the Labor & Delivery setting.
• Manage patient assignments safely and efficiently while maintaining a calm, compassionate, and service-focused approach.
• Use established documentation systems to accurately record assessments, interventions, outcomes, and care plans.
• Collaborate with the care team to promote safe patient outcomes and a positive experience for patients and families.
• When needed, assist with task-based support in the obstetric or nursery areas without assuming a patient assignment.
• Adapt to changing patient acuity and work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment.
