Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• At least 2 years of bedside clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, as required
• Ability to provide safe, respectful, and patient-centered care
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and follow attendance and punctuality standards
• Commitment to HIPAA, infection prevention, patient safety, and workplace safety guidelines

Hospital CNA Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient care and bedside nursing assistant tasks under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, positioning, mobility, and other comfort needs
• Observe patients and promptly communicate changes in condition or care concerns to the nursing team
• Accurately document patient care provided in accordance with established procedures
• Follow safe patient-handling practices and identify and report potential hazards
• Support infection prevention, fall prevention, and other patient and employee safety initiatives
• Assist with meal service by preparing, delivering, and retrieving trays according to prescribed diets
• Help patients make appropriate menu selections while considering diet orders, allergies, sensitivities, and preferences
• Communicate patient care and nutrition-related concerns to the appropriate department
• Attend required in-services and team meetings and perform other duties as assigned
