Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired
• Ability to provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-focused care
• Knowledge of safe patient handling, infection prevention, and workplace safety practices
• Ability to protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA and applicable healthcare standards
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

Hospital CNA Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care and bedside support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, mobility, positioning, and other comfort measures
• Observe patients and promptly communicate changes, concerns, or care needs to the nursing team
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
• Support safe patient handling and maintain awareness of environmental hazards
• Assist with meal and menu-related patient services in accordance with prescribed diets, allergies, and preferences
• Prepare, deliver, and retrieve patient meals and nourishment items as assigned
• Follow current diet orders and communicate food-service or patient-care concerns appropriately
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with organizational, HIPAA, and Joint Commission guidelines
• Participate in in-services, team meetings, and other assigned duties that support quality patient care
