Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification or state-recognized equivalent
• A minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and respectful patient care
• Knowledge of patient safety, infection prevention, HIPAA, and safe patient-handling practices
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work three 12-hour day shifts in an on-site hospital environment

CNA Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care and bedside support under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Assist patients with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, comfort, and independence
• Follow safe patient-handling procedures and maintain awareness of workplace hazards
• Accurately document care provided and communicate patient concerns or changes in condition to the nursing team
• Support meal-service activities by reviewing diet orders, assisting with menu selections, and delivering or retrieving meals as assigned
• Help ensure meals, nourishment items, and labels align with prescribed diets and documented patient needs
• Follow infection-control, HIPAA, Joint Commission, attendance, and departmental policies
• Assist with unit or department organization, supplies, clerical tasks, and related clinical support activities as needed
• Participate in required in-services, meetings, and competency activities
• Contribute to a collaborative hospital care environment focused on patient and team safety
