Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical / Emergency Department Holds Float Pool

Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Trenton, New Jersey
• Start Date: December 9, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 8 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
• Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Work Setting: On-site Medical-Surgical units and Emergency Department Holds
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Electronic Medical Record: Cerner
• Uniform: Navy blue scrubs

RN Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Active New Jersey or Compact Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Current influenza vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
• Ability to float between designated nearby campuses and support Medical-Surgical units or Emergency Department Holds as needed

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in Medical-Surgical units and Emergency Department Holds.
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and evaluate clinical outcomes.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the interdisciplinary care team.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing colleagues, and support services to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Cerner electronic medical record.
• Adapt effectively to changing assignments and clinical needs across multiple units and campuses.
• Meet all scheduled shifts. Missed scheduled shifts must be made up within the same week when possible; overtime for make-up shifts is not permitted. If a shift cannot be made up within the same week, the assignment may be extended to include the missed shift.
