Welder / Fitter – Structural Tube Fabrication Job Summary We're hiring an experienced Welder / Fitter for a full-time fabrication role in West Valley, Utah, paying $20–$27/hour based on experience. You'll work on structural tube assemblies and plate components using MIG and Flux Core processes — with consistent hours, modern equipment, and a team that takes quality seriously. What You'll Do 

• Fit and weld structural tube assemblies and plate components using MIG (GMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) processes
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols for structural projects
• Perform layout, cutting, grinding, and material prep using standard shop tools
• Verify dimensions and alignment with measuring tools, squares, and levels to ensure tight tolerances
• Maintain weld quality for appearance, size, and penetration per WPS requirements
• Inspect completed welds for conformance and flag any issues to supervision
• Operate welding machines, grinders, saws, and fabrication equipment following safety protocols

 What You Bring Required 

• 1–2 years of welding experience or completion of a welding certification program
• Proficiency in MIG (GMAW) and/or Flux Core (FCAW) welding processes
• Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Experience with shop tools including saws, grinders, and torches

 Preferred 

• AWS D1.1 certification or equivalent
• Experience with structural tube steel fabrication
• Familiarity with weld joint fit-up and preparation techniques

 Physical Requirements This role takes place in an active fabrication shop. Expect to be on your feet for up to 10 hours per shift, lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and work in an environment with welding arcs, grinding noise, heat, and sparks.
