Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Maintenance Technician for a long-term opportunity with a growing food manufacturing company in Folsom, CA. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and completing repairs on production machinery to ensure efficient operations and minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and have the flexibility to work overtime, early morning shifts, and occasional weekends as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on food production equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
• Complete equipment repairs and servicing before, during, and after production runs.
• Respond quickly to unexpected machine breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Inspect equipment and identify potential maintenance concerns before failures occur.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and repair documentation.
• Follow all company safety, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with installation, adjustment, and testing of machinery as needed.
• Work closely with production staff to ensure equipment is operating efficiently.

Schedule

• Standard schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Overtime may be required before production begins or after production ends.
• Employees may occasionally be required to work past the scheduled end of shift due to equipment breakdowns or emergency repairs.
• Weekend work is required approximately 1-2 times per month.
• Additional weekend maintenance work may be required when equipment servicing cannot be completed during normal production hours.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, food production, or related environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs is a plus.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems preferred.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working around production machinery and equipment.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures typical of a food manufacturing environment.
