Locum Tenens Urology Job Details

• Assignment Duration: Approximately 26 weeks, through August 2, 2027
• Schedule: Night call coverage from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; physicians must be comfortable taking 24-hour call shifts
• Coverage Need: Minimum of 5 coverage days per month; approximately 10–12 shifts are anticipated monthly
• Patient Volume: Approximately 1–6 adult urology consults per day
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $81,900–$87,750

Urology Physician Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of urology experience, including experience with 24-hour call coverage
• Board certification or eligibility in Urology through the American Board of Urology or in Urological Surgery through the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery
• Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited urology residency program
• Active California physician license
• California DEA registration with Schedule II authority
• Current California Fluoroscopy Certificate
• Case logs documenting at least 30 relevant cases from the previous 24 months
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to provide at least 5 days of coverage each month

Urology Physician Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient urology consultations for adult patients admitted to hospitalist services
• Evaluate and manage approximately 1–6 consults per day based on clinical demand
• Respond to urgent urologic concerns during scheduled night coverage
• Perform bread-and-butter urology procedures, including management of testicular torsion, abscesses, and clot evacuation
• Collaborate with hospitalist teams, neighboring urologists, nursing staff, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Document assessments, treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up recommendations in Epic
• Deliver timely, compassionate care while maintaining clear communication with patients, families, and care teams
