• Patient Volume: Approximately 13-16 patients per shift, with an average of about 1.3 patients per hour

Emergency Medicine Physician Requirements

• At least 1 year of Emergency Medicine experience; 2 years is highly preferred
• Active California medical license required
• California DEA registration required, including Schedule II and IIN prescribing authority
• ABEM board certification required; board-eligible physicians may be considered
• Documentation of active Emergency Medicine practice, including a minimum of 500 cases during the previous 24 months
• Current provider credentials and professional documentation required for credentialing
• Availability for predominantly overnight emergency department coverage, with flexibility for swing shifts

Emergency Medicine Physician Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the emergency department
• Manage a broad range of acute and emergent medical conditions in a hospital-based setting
• Perform advanced emergency procedures, including intubation and central line placement
• Provide emergency evaluation and stabilization for coding patients in the emergency department or on inpatient floors when needed
• Coordinate transfers for patients requiring higher levels of trauma or specialty care
• Collaborate with emergency department nurses, anesthesia and intensivist support, and other clinical team members
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation using Epic and available dictation services
• Deliver safe, compassionate, and efficient care during overnight and swing-shift coverage
