ICU Travel Nursing Job Details

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in West Virginia
• At least 1 year of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated ability to care for high-acuity patients, including neurological and medical critical care cases
• Experience titrating critical care infusions, including vasopressors, sedation, anticoagulants, insulin, and antihypertensive medications
• Ability to work overnight shifts and participate in weekend and holiday rotations
• COVID-19 vaccination or an approved medical or religious exemption, as applicable

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill MICU and Neuro ICU patients in an acute-care setting
• Care for patients with stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, dialysis needs, ventriculostomies or EVDs, and other complex neurological conditions
• Continuously assess patient status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly intervene or escalate concerns
• Safely administer and titrate medications such as norepinephrine, phenylephrine, vasopressin, midazolam, paralytics, heparin, insulin, and nicardipine
• Manage patients requiring ventilators, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and other advanced respiratory support
• Collaborate with intensivists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, monitor technicians, nursing assistants, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Perform accurate assessments, medication administration, care planning, and documentation in Epic
• Support patient safety, evidence-based practice, and high-quality outcomes throughout the assignment
